Developer updates plans for 164 energy-efficient homes in East Cambridgeshire village

A developer is seeking to update its plans for 164 new homes on the northern edge of Sutton.

Plans were approved by East Cambridgeshire District Council in 2022 for the land off Mepal Road.

But Vistry Homes East Anglia has now applied to reorganise the layout, moving the plots for nine-self-build homes together in a section to the north west.

The developer says the homes will be energy efficient with solar panels, while each home will have an electric car charging point.

The plans set out water efficiency measures, such as low flow showers and taps, with the aim of keeping water use down to no more than 110 litres per person a day.

The district council will now determine whether the revised plans can proceed.
