Dinky Doors unveil their tiniest creation yet in Cambridge: the Emailerator-ette

Dinky Doors have created their tiniest artwork yet – a dinkier version of their magical Emailerator postbox on Riverside.

The mini-me of their already small postbox was created by the Dinky Doors artists so that visitors who like to check on the various doors were not disappointed when the original artwork was taken away for mending.

Now the Emailerator is back in place and all spruced up, the anonymous artists have decided to leave the baby version – called the Emailerator-ette – in place.

Dinky Doors said: “We had noticed that the Emailerator had started to lean over a bit – it had a little bit of a wonk. Some of it was made of wood and the weather had got inside which meant that if someone gave it a push or a shove it would move.

“We needed to remove it for a little while so it could be fixed.

“But we know we have a very special fan who likes to visit this door every time she is in Cambridge so we shrunk down another Emailerator to leave in its place.

“Now we think the two look great side by side and we really quite like the idea of making lots of little versions of the original ones.”

Dinky Doors have been on a mission to save the world for some time and follow instructions from a mysterious Supreme Leader who crash landed his spaceship in Cambridge and set them the task of cheering up humanity.

So far, they have dotted Cambridge streets with fairy-sized doors, petite portals to other worlds, spaceships and even an Octo Spa.
