Hospital staff are being asked to exterminate flu this winter by Doctor Flu, and she's called on the evil Dalek Empire to help out.

Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals have launched a Doctor Who-inspired campaign encouraging staff to get a flu jab this winter.

It is being promoted with the help of a life-size cut-out of Doctor Flu popping up in staff vaccination areas.

Addenbrooke’s medical director Dr Ashley Shaw said: “Our message is be like Doctor Flu and help exterminate the flu this winter.”

Carers, over-65s, those with long-term health conditions, pregnant women, children aged two to eight, and others at risk should have their free flu vaccine at their GP surgery.
