They suspected he had been drinking and Msipa blew 93 in a breath test, more than twice the legal limit.

Msipa, of Folley Road, Mildenhall, Bury St Edmunds, pleaded guilty to drink driving at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Monday (2 June). He was disqualified from driving for 40 months and ordered to pay a fine of £500.

PC Jack Taylor said: “Getting behind the wheel drunk and then deciding to park at the side of a major road was extremely dangerous and put himself, other drivers, and officers at risk.

“He will now spend a significant amount of time off the roads.”

The force operates a dedicated, confidential hotline – 0800 032 0845 – which is available 24/7 and allows the reporting of those believed to be driving under the influence.
