East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) bowled over as Judi helps raise £4,250

Chesterton Indoor Bowls Club’s former president Judi Jarvis has helped raise £4,250 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).

She presented the cheque to her chosen charity last Thursday (14 November) at the club.

Judi’s fundraising involved a range of ideas and initiatives, including collections and raffles, during her presidential year at the club, which ran from September 2023 to April 2024.

Current president Colin Banks said: “Judi was president last season and, because it was also our 50th anniversary, she organised a lot of extra things during the year.

“She raised a phenomenal amount which was more than anybody else has ever done, I believe.

“It takes about £4,000 to actually send a helicopter off to do emergency calls, so she’s raised enough to save at least one person.”

Colin added: “Usually, we have two or three social nights during the year, as a club, and Judi organised quite a few other events, like a jazz night and puzzle nights.”

EAAA also has a clothing bank in the club’s car park.
