Edge Café in Mill Road, Cambridge, marks its eighth anniversary

A team of 16 volunteers from the Devonshire Gardens development project team came together to redecorate the Edge Café in Mill Road, in celebration of its eighth birthday.

First established as a social enterprise with the involvement of the Cambridgeshire Drug and Alcohol action team, the Edge promotes community-led recovery and support services.

Since opening in 2016, the team has served around 60,000 cups of coffee and baked and sold 8,800 slices of its popular carrot cake.

Gail Sawyer, recovery hub manager at the café, said: “Since the Edge Café opened its doors, the team has been busy serving the community and supporting so many inspiring people on their journey to recovery.”
