Firefighters tackle fire in lorry trailer on M11 south of Cambridge




A fire in a lorry trailer on the M11 was tackled by firefighters on Monday (6 January).

Crews from Cambridge, Sawston, Newmarket and the north roaming fire engine were called to the fire at 2.46pm on Monday.

The lorry was on the hard shoulder of the southbound slip road at junction 11 for the A10 and Harston.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and then escorted it back to its depot to be emptied safely.

The crews returned to their stations by 4.30pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
