Five teenagers arrested in Abbey and Cherry Hinton as police probe 20 crimes in Cambridge




Five teenagers were arrested in Abbey ward and Cherry Hinton by police investigating more than 20 crimes in Cambridge.

Police are probing offences including robbery, attempted robbery, theft from a shop, criminal damage, harassment, common assault, making threats to kill and possession of a knife.

Bail conditions, in place until 11 October, exclude them from entering Cambridge city centre, ban them from certain shops and require that they do not not wear face coverings in public.

Three of those arrested have been charged and will each appear at Huntingdon Youth Court on 7 August.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of shop theft, while a 13-year-old boy has been charged with one count of criminal damage and a 13-year-old girl has been charged with two counts of shop theft.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of two counts of robbery and one count of making threats to kill.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of harassment and criminal damage. He was released with no further action.
