Football tables in Cambridge pub celebrate Women’s Euros
To celebrate Women’s Euro 2022, the Grain & Hop Store pub in Regent Street, Cambridge - owned by Greene King - has installed a football table which features all female players.
Emilia Raimondi-Baker, general manager at the Grain & Hop Store, said: “We’re excited to have a bespoke female-only football table installed at Grain & Hop Store. Not only will they help raise awareness and support for women’s sports, but it will also help raise money for Women in Sport.”
The pub has added a monetary mechanism to the tables and it costs £2 for a half-hour session, with all money raised being donated to the charity Women in Sport.
Wendy Hawk, head of engagement and communications at Women in Sport, said: “We are delighted that Greene King has chosen our charity as part of this campaign to recognise the value of women’s sport whilst claiming their part in raising visibility across local communities.”
