The trust was left devastated after thieves stole £2,000 of tools from a workshop in an area of supported living homes in Milton on June 11.

John Ellis, trust chief executive, said: “We are so grateful to the community who have pulled together to support the charity.”

The event was also to thank volunteers who helped at the recently closed, Fair Shares café in Cambridge.

Landlord Sally Champion said: “We are pleased to support the Edmund Trust, many of the people who live in their properties are our customers so we have been eager to help.”
