Fundraising concert at Cambridge Junction will benefit music stalwart Colin Hazell following amputation

A fundraising concert celebrating the 80th birthday of Colin Hazell, a stalwart of the Cambridge music scene, with Big 10, Hollowstar, and Colonel Hathi and the Frigidaires on the bill, is to be held at Cambridge Junction (J1) on Friday, February 10.

Due to diabetes complications, Colin has had to have his leg amputated below the knee and is currently in hospital in Portsmouth, where he moved back down to a few years ago.

The venue states that “with his blessing, we are still going ahead with the gig as a fundraiser for him for whatever he might need for the future”.

Colin has been described as a “legend” of Cambridge music. The gig organisers said if you went to a gig in the city in the 70s and 80s, it is likely Colin put up the poster that informed you – and there is a good chance he greeted you when you arrived.

Tickets, priced £12.50, are available at junction.co.uk.
