Gaming the focus as ARU hosts Gamebridge, a free festival for young people
Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) hosted a free festival to help young people plan their careers in the games industry – one of the fastest growing creative sectors in the UK.
The Gamebridge Student Games Festival at ARU’s Cambridge campus on Saturday (15 June) brought together experts, leading games design companies and students from across the country.
Dr Baris Isikguner, associate professor in computer games and deputy head of the Cambridge School of Creative Industries at ARU, said: “We were thrilled to host this important event on our Cambridge campus, which is sponsored by some of the leading games companies in the UK.
“Gamebridge provides invaluable insight to anyone interested in pursuing a career in the games industry, and we were delighted to welcome over 270 attendees – including students, industry practitioners, and academics from across the country – to network and explore more about the next stage of their journeys.”
Games companies attending Gamebridge this year included Frontier Games, Jagex, Rocksteady, Airship Interactive, Mooncolony and XR Games.
