GCSE results day 2020: Swavesey Village College celebrates top grades
Students and staff at Swavesey Village College have been celebrating another year of superb GCSE results, with high-flying students achieving top grades.
As the Covid-19 restrictions this year have caused written exams to be cancelled, students have received centre-assessed grades estimated by teachers based on a compilation of work throughout the course and results in mock and progress assessments.
Particular achievements included those of Nicola Craciun, who was awarded 11 grade 9s and a grade A in additional maths, and Emma Davis, who received 10 grade 9s, one distinction* in BTEC and a grade A in additional maths.
Other standout students included Jess Austin, who achieved 11 grade 9s and a B in additional maths, Tom Newman who received 10 grade 9s, one grade 8 and a B in additional maths, and Ed Rous who received 9 grade 9s, two grade 8s and a A in additional maths.
Headteacher of Swavesey Village College, Jim Stavrou, said: “I am incredibly proud of our students who have accomplished another set of fantastic achievements this year, despite all the challenges they have faced. These results demonstrate the consistent hard work and commitment our students have given to their studies throughout their time at Swavesey. I wish them all the greatest success in whatever they choose to move on to in the next academic year.
