More than half of the Year 11 students at the science specialist college achieved at least a grade 7 in their science GCSEs amid a strong set of results across the board.

Those celebrating individual successes also included Amelia, who achieved ten GCSEs at grades 8 and 9, Oliver, who achieved nine GCSEs at grades 8 and 9 and Alex, who achieved seven grade 9 GCSEs.

Many of the Year 11s will be returning to CAST for sixth form to begin their A-level and T-level courses. The sixth form celebrated its own success last week, with students’ excellent results enabling students to secure places on some of the UK’s most competitive university programmes.

Principal Danielle Pacey said: “It is brilliant to see that today’s GCSE results represent another strong set of achievements for our students, mirroring last week’s successes in our sixth form. Our Year 11s can be equally pleased, knowing that their efforts over the course of their studies have been rewarded with some excellent individual outcomes.

“Achieving these GCSE qualifications is a hugely important milestone in young people’s lives and will set them up well for the next stage of their education. We are delighted that so many of our Year 11s have chosen to return to our sixth form to continue their studies and have no doubt they will achieve just as highly at A-level and T-level equivalents.

“As always, I would also like to thank staff for the role they play in these outcomes, not just in the classroom but in helping to provide a rich, well-rounded education with character for our students. This ensures they not only have the qualifications but the skills and experiences they need as they pursue their talents in STEM.”
