GCSE results day 2022: North Cambridge Academy
Students at North Cambridge Academy have “overcome huge challenges” and are proud to celebrate another year of excellent GCSE achievements.
Following an excellent GCSE performance, six of the academy’s students have secured a fully funded two-year scholarship at the Stephen Perse Foundation in Cambridge.
Byushra Ahmed, Nadia Ahmed, Angel Rodrigues, Beth Hooker, Joseph Wood and Arturs Teivan will all be pursuing their sixth form studies at the Stephen Perse from September.
Honey Arnold also performed impressively in her GCSEs, achieving the grades she needed to secure a two-year boarding scholarship through the academy’s partnership with the Royal National Children’s Springboard Foundation. Honey will be attending Lancing College to pursue a career in Law.
Freya Graves has secured an impressive scholarship for a place to study her A-levels at St Mary’s School in Cambridge.
Other standout performances this year include Joseph Meijer, who achieved eight grade 9’s, Gavin Kum, who achieved nine grades above an 8, and Bella Owuor, who after starting at North Cambridge Academy, part of Meridian Trust, in Year 10 went on to achieve seven grade 7s or above.
Principal Samuel Fox said: “Our young people have achieved some exceptional results that are a fair reflection of the hard work they have put in over their time at North Cambridge Academy. They have overcome huge challenges in the last few years, and it has been a pleasure to watch them grow into motivated, independent learners.
“We believe in providing all students with exciting, memorable experiences to inspire their enthusiasm and we look to continually extend the boundaries of learning. Our staff have shown unwavering commitment to helping our students reach their potential and I have no doubt that their support has given them the best start in life.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating with students and parents today and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours as they continue their studies with many of our partnership organisations.”
