Calum, who achieved seven grade 9s, said he was “really proud” of his results.

“Studying at CAST was the right decision for me. I’ve improved my grades across the board and made a lot of friends. CAST has helped broaden my horizons, given me new skills and encouraged me to always aim higher,” he said.

Today’s result follows on from the success of last week’s A-level and T-level results, which saw students achieve a raft of impressive grades and secure places at some of the country’s most prestigious universities. Buoyed by their GCSE results, many of the school’s outgoing Year 11 students will be taking up places in the sixth form this September.

Principal Danielle Pacey said: “It is fantastic to be celebrating these excellent results with our Year 11 students today. This cohort has inspired us all with the diligence, determination and commitment they have shown to their GCSE studies and they are highly deserving of their success.

“Thank you to staff and parents across our school community for all that they have done to support and guide students and help them to achieve their very best.”
