GCSE results day 2024: Host of top grades awarded to Parkside Community College students




Students at Parkside Community College in Cambridge are celebrating after being awarded a host of top GCSE grades.

Hugo McGurk, who explained that he had put in a lot of hard work, achieved an impressive 11 grade 9s.

“It feels amazing to achieve these results,” he said.

Meanwhile Lorcan Collins picked up eight grade 9s and two grade 8s and Maya Mulvihill achieved six grade 9s and four grade 8s.

Lorcan said: “My results reflect all the work that I put into my studies over my time at Parkside so I’m very happy with what I got.”

“I’m the happiest about my grade 8 in maths. I feel really excited – today has been great!” added Maya.

Andrei Northcoat was another top performer, achieving five grade 9s and three grade 8s.

Principal Dee Wallace said: “We are thrilled with the fantastic achievements of our Year 11 students. This cohort have worked incredibly hard over the last two years and have really grown as individuals. Today’s results reflect their commitment and dedication to their studies.

“Excellent outcomes are only achieved when students, teachers and parents work together. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our members of staff for their unwavering dedication and the countless hours of support they have provided to our students. Thanks also to our parent community whose help and encouragement has been invaluable to our young people.

“As we celebrate these impressive GCSE results, we look forward to the bright futures ahead for our students. We are confident that the skills and knowledge they have acquired at Parkside Community College will serve as a strong foundation for their continued success in the years to come.”
