GCSE results day 2024: North Cambridge Academy celebrate remarkable performances
Young people at North Cambridge Academy are celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE results, paving the way for them to embark on a variety of academic and vocational opportunities.
Three students, Joy Eade, Chris Torvilla and Ellie Creek, have been awarded fully-funded scholarships to the Stephen Perse Foundation due their remarkable academic performance.
Among the school’s other top performers are Zaara Tasneem, who achieved 11 qualifications including six grade 9s as well as a Level 2 Distinctions in construction and sport and Joy Hannah, who was awarded 10 qualifications including five 9s and a Level 2 Distinction in sport.
Additionally, Jerry Lai achieved 11 qualifications of grade 7 or above, including 9s in Chinese and geography and a Level 2 Distinction in construction and sport - all this despite not joining the academy until the end of Year 8.
Principal Jane Driver said: “We are thrilled with the hard work and determination our students have shown, which is reflected in these fantastic results. Across a wide range of subjects, including English, maths, science, history, geography, construction, sport, art, performing arts, and modern foreign languages, our students have undoubtedly demonstrated the academy’s values of hard work, ambition, confidence and creativity to secure these results. They should be so proud of their achievements. We’re feeling very proud to be NCA today.”
She added: “These results are a testament to the dedication of our staff, the support of families, and the determination of our students. We wish all our students the very best as they take the next step in their educational journeys, and we can’t wait to see what they go on to achieve next.”
