GCSE results day 2024: Northstowe Secondary College celebrates first GCSE results
A significant milestone has been reached at Northstowe Secondary College with the school’s first-ever set of GCSE results.
Having opened its doors to Year 7 students in September 2019, the college has now seen its inaugural cohort of Year 11 students achieve remarkable success.
Interim principal of Northstowe Learning Community, Claire Mills, said: “I am enormously proud of our Year 11 students who have achieved a great set of results in Northstowe Secondary College’s first GCSE cohort.
“It is a testament to the hard work of all our students. The successes of our students would not have been possible without the dedication and expertise of our excellent team of staff, led by Headteacher Carole Moss, who have gone above and beyond for our students. I cannot thank our team of staff enough, alongside our families who have supported students throughout their Northstowe Secondary College journey.”
Northstowe’s highest achieving students were Daniel Smith and Lara Middleton who both achieved six grade 9s. Daniel also obtained four grades 8s and a grade 7 and Lara also achieved three grade 8s and two grade 7s.
Ms Mills added: “We are also extremely proud of Sarah Kochuthara, who achieved grade 8 in two language subjects. “Karim Pascual and Michael Bielawski made the most progress of all our students over their time at Northstowe Secondary College.”
Executive principal Martin Campbell said: “Our first Year 11 cohort have shown great resilience through the build and development of Northstowe Secondary School. The efforts they have put into their studies throughout their time at NSC have shown their commitment to our values and ethos and their drive for success. I wish all our Year 11 students the greatest success in the next steps of their journey.”
The school has an exciting year ahead with the second phase of the Northstowe Learning Community build including an expansion of the current secondary school, part of Meridian Trust, to create 600 additional places in the new term. There will also be a new 400-place sixth form, 630-place primary school and 78-place pre-school.
