Built by Luminus Developments, this complex of modern luxury apartments, tucked away in Glenalmond Avenue and close to the railway station, is an ideal location for anyone wanting to get the most out of everything Cambridge city centre has to offer.

Residents Carly and Olly Knapp (both of whom are Cambridgeshire born and bred) describe themselves as"towniesand have lived happily in the property for seven years. The fact that their son recently turned two means the couple are now hoping to find a place with a garden, preferably within town.

"We really enjoy the Botanic Garden, so we've got a year's pass, said Carly, a dental hygienist by trade."Being here during my maternity leave was great because I could just walk into town and push him around the park, go to Newnham..."

Prior to moving to their current home, Olly and Carly previously lived on Mill Road."When we lived on Mill Road, we liked that vibe, but an opportunity here came up,said Olly. Carly recalled:"When we bought this, it was part-buy and part-rent and we have lived on Bateman Street as well so we know the area."

When the Knapps first moved in, there were fewer apartment blocks surrounding theirs and the couple were able to see both the bridge and the Cambridge University Press building from their flat, which also includes a delightful balcony.

As mentioned, it is the excellent location that makes Glenalmond Avenue such an attractive proposition for familes, couples or people living alone (especially young professionals) and there are projects afoot to ensure that the views offer more than just rows of apartment blocks, one of which is an ambitious landscaped garden currently being built on top of a smaller building opposite - so the view should be a pleasing sight once it's finished.

Asked if they would consider moving to one of the many new developments springing up around Cambridge, Carly replied:"I always said I never wanted to move into a new build, but this was new and it's lovely... If we see an absolutely amazing house, then maybe, but it's the commute from here - I cycle to work and it's nice to be here."

Refelecting on what they've done to the flat since they moved in, Olly said:"We've just tried to keep it clean and in great condition.Carly added:"We've decorated once, but we've just kept it neutral because we've got quite vibrant colours ?and furniture."

Olly said of their taste in interior design:"We've got a mix of bits. We've got a very old-fashioned Danish sofa in a kind of '60s style, chairs are very much the old egg chairs, our coffee table we manufactured out of an old table - we cut the legs off it and painted the bottom black."

"Mixed with Ikea and John Lewis stuff, interjected Carly."It's modern and retro. It's bits that we've got second hand mixed with modern stuff.

What are the standout features of the property for the family? Is the aforementioned balcony one of them?"In the summer, certainly, replied Olly."You can sit there with the door open and have a glass of wine. But it's just this open-plan area; you can have something cooking, have some music on and just chill out. It's just a nice flat - it's got a nice vibe to it."
