Granta Medical Practices GP Dr James Morrow appointed to board of Cambridge University Hospitals
Cambridgeshire GP Dr James Morrow has been appointed as a non-executive director of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH), which runs Addenbrooke’s and The Rosie hospitals.
A partner at Granta Medical Practices - which he helped to create and turn into one of the largest single practices in the East of England, with more than 58,000 registered patients - Dr Morrow co-chaired the Cambridgeshire South Care Partnership umbrella group bringing together agencies within the health, local authority and voluntary sectors between 2019 and 2023.
Having studied at Cambridge and Oxford, and with a degree in law in addition to his medical qualifications, he has been a senior clinical tutor at the University of Cambridge.
CUH chair Dr Mike More said: “I am delighted that James is joining the CUH board. We will benefit greatly from his extensive knowledge and experience of our local health and care system and of delivering more integrated care for the patients and communities we serve.”
Dr Morrow said: “It is a real privilege to be appointed to this role. I plan to use my primary care knowledge, understanding of local issues and focus on patient experience and care to ensure that CUH continues to work with its partners to provide the best possible healthcare to its patients.”
James has been appointed to a three-year term of office by the CUH council of governors following a competitive recruitment process.
