Hat trick as Carter Jonas and COEL to host third charity cricket day

Ex-England cricketer Chris Broad will be guest speaker when national property consultancy Carter Jonas and design and fit-out specialist COEL host a T20 charity cricket day at Fenner’s this summer.

Taking place on Thursday, 10 July, this is the third year that Carter Jonas and COEL have hosted the event, having raised more than £40,000 for different charities to date.

This year their nominated charities are Tom’s Trust, the Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital, LandAid and The Phoenix Trust.

The event organisers are encouraging people to bring clients and colleagues, friends and family along, with tickets to the event costing £10 plus booking fee (online via Eventbrite) or £20 on the door (accompanied children under 16 get in free).

Tickets can now be booked at coel.co.uk/coel-events/coel-vs-carter-jonas-charity-cricket-match/.

A silent auction is also going to be hosted on the Carter Jonas website, with a wide range of lots donated, with something there to appeal to everyone.

All proceeds from the sponsorship, silent auction and ticket sales will go to the charities, with Carter Jonas and COEL paying for all the costs of the event.

Both Carter Jonas and COEL have thanked all who have supported the event including the sponsors, many of whom have been involved with the event from the beginning.

More than £25,000 has been raised through sponsorship already. The day runs from 1pm to 7pm and includes live music from Tom Korni, the one-man band, as well as thrilling sporting action from the cricketers.

In addition to Fenner’s bar being open, Cantab Catering will provide a range of food including barbecue-cooked meats and vegetarian grills.

Brewboard is bringing its beer van and there will also be a Pimm’s bar, a Prosecco bar, and a real ale bar in the grounds.

Cantab and Brewboard will be giving 10 per cent of their turnover to the fundraising.
