Savings could reach £230 a year

The county’s residents have another chance to save money on their energy bills with the Cambridgeshire Energy Switch scheme.

The county council has teamed up with iChoosr, an independent service provider, to provide residents with the chance to switch to the best energy deals.

The previous scheme ran from August to November and attracted more than 800 residents, with those that accepted offers making an average saving of £230 a year.

Many people are paying too much for their gas and electricity and have not changed suppliers in years, if at all. Residents are encouraged to register for the Cambridgeshire Energy Switch scheme to see if they can secure a better rate – and save money – in the year ahead.

Cllr Joshua Schumann, chairman of the council’s commercial and investments committee, said: “We welcome this scheme in Cambridgeshire. I would like to encourage as many residents as possible to take advantage and benefit from this energy switch.”

Residents who sign up will receive their personal energy offers by February 26. They will have until March 27 to decide whether or not to accept the offer.
