Help Red Hen Project to support families this Christmas
Help The Red Hen Project, a small Cambridge-based charity working with five primary schools in North Cambridge, to reach its goal of providing Christmas dinners and support for 100 families this Christmas.
If the charity raises £10,000 for the Big Give Christmas Challenge, it will double it to £20,000 - and that total has nearly been raised.
For more than 25 years, The Red Hen Project has supported children and their families in North Cambridge.
Sarah Crick, chief executive of The Red Hen Project, said: “Unfortunately, living in Cambridge can bring unique challenges that can often lead to financial stress.
“Everyone wants Christmas to be special for their kids, and we work with families who are struggling from September to reassure parents that we can help with things like presents and Christmas dinners.
“This means stress is reduced, with panic-buying and debt avoided.”
She added: “This is the fifth year Red Hen has run a Christmas appeal to raise funds with the help of the Cambridge Fruit Company, and this year all money raised up to £10,000 was matched by The Big Give giving an extra boost.”
