Histon and Impington reach last 19 of national TV competition

They feature in semi-final of Village of the Year on Channel 4 on Saturday

Histon and Impington have reached the last 19 of the Channel Four TV competition ‘Village of the Year’.

They are now on the brink of reaching the final of the competition where £10,000 is up for grabs to the winners.

A spokesperson for the villages said: “You may have heard the exciting news that, from several hundred applicants, our villages Histon and Impington have made it through to the last 19 of the nationwide competition on Channel Four and will feature in the third semi-final showing at 8pm on Saturday, February 3.

“Well done to the three main participants yesterday, The Community Orchard’s Dan Mace, Sue and Surinder at Station Stores, and Moira Neal and Kilo’s graffiti project.”

The programme, hosted by actress Penelope Keith, has already become a hit for the TV company.

Four villages will feature in the Grand Final which will air on Saturday, February 10.
