How to watch the 2020 Cambridge Christmas lights switch-on from your home

Cambridge’s Christmas lights are being switched on today (Sunday November 15) - but the pandemic means there’s no big-switch on event to attend this year.

Instead, you can watch the switch-on via a live video stream on Star Radio’s Facebook page.

The station is playing festive songs and there are performances from local community groups including the Rock Choir, Tom Korni, Sing Choirs.

A special appearance from Santa is promised, and the station will also be talking to mayor of Cambridge, Russ McPhearson.

At 4.45pm, the mayor and Santa will count down to the switch-on, which will take place at 5pm.

You’ll be able to watch the market square, Grand Arcade and Lion Yard switch on their lights via Star Radio’s Facebook page, before an hour of party tunes.

Star Radio can be found at 100.7FM, online and on smart speakers.
