Festive shoppers brave weather for Duxford's annual Advent market

Festive shoppers braved the weather to enjoy the annual Duxford Advent Market on Saturday (December 8).

The German-style event, held in and around the redundant medieval church of St John’s, was founded in 2011. Visitors enjoyed a wide variety of craft stalls, food, glühwein and entertainment, as well as a visit from Santa Claus, who took Christmas stocking orders in his grotto.

Organisers tweeted: “Another successful advent market.

“Our visitors love the setting, the sparkling lights, great choice of handmade gifts and, despite some strong wind, lots of people stayed to enjoy the hog roast and hula hoop lessons outside. See you in 2019 and thank you all for coming.”
