Hunt for missing Milton man: Police find body in river near Grantchester

Police searching for missing Marcus Smith have discovered a body in a river at Grantchester.

Mr Smith, 66, went missing from his home in Milton Road, Cambridge, on Sunday, October 1 and clothing was found in Grantchester by officers hunting for him.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Mr Smith was last seen leaving his home at around 11.15am on Sunday and it is understood he visited allotments in Pakenham Close.

A police helicopter sent to assist in the search on Monday night.

Formal identification is yet to take place.
