Hunt for suspects after two men stabbed during night-time violence in Mill Road, Cambridge

Two men were stabbed as violence broke out in the early hours of the morning in Cambridge’s Mill Road.

One of the men remains in hospital today following the stabbings and police are searching for three men thought to be responsible for the attacks, who escaped on bikes.

The police helicopter was called out last night and cordons are in place in the area, close to the bridge.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called in the early hours of this morning (30 June) to reports of violence in Mill Road, Cambridge.

“Just after midnight officers attended and found two men with stab wounds. One man was taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged. The other received serious injuries and remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

“The suspects – thought to be three men – fled the scene on bikes before officers arrived. A search is ongoing.

“The incident is believed to be isolated and anyone with any information is urged to report online at www.cambs.police.uk/report or call 101, quoting incident number 2 of 30 June.”
