Hunt on for two boys suspected of violent assault in Cambridge that left man unconscious
The hunt is on for two boys believed to be responsible for a violent assault that left a man in his 50s with a fractured face and ribs and caused him to lose consciousness in Cambridge on Saturday night (21 June).
Police were called by the ambulance service at about 8pm following the attack near to the skate park at Jesus Green.
The man’s injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening and he was taken to Addenbrooke’s, where he remains in a stable condition.
It is believed the attack was carried out by two boys, who are both described as white, possibly in their mid-to-late teens. One had brown slicked back hair and was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans, while the other had blond or light brown hair and was wearing a white T-shirt and shorts.
Det Con Amberlie Ford, who is investigating, said: “This was a particularly violent assault which left the victim with fractures to his face and ribs, as well as causing him to lose consciousness temporarily.
“I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or has any information about who might be involved.”
The area would have been busy on Saturday, with Midsummer Fair happening nearby on Midsummer Common.
