In pictures: Cambridge’s spectacular 2024 fireworks display - plus Spark! street theatre

Tens of thousands of people gathered in Cambridge for a spectacular fireworks display on Tuesday night (5 November), while many other communities – including Ely – held their events on Saturday (2 November).

Cambridge’s display was put together by Pains Fireworks, which was established in 1862, making it the oldest fireworks display company in the UK.

Before it got under way, the huge crowd was entertained by Spark! – a street theatre show combining high-impact drumming with kaleidoscopic colour lighting.

Many other displays were held on Saturday, including in Cambourne and Great Shelford, but if you missed them, you can still catch some fireworks on Saturday (9 November) at Impington Village College.

The gates open at 6pm, with the display from 7pm. Visit bookmyplacenow.uk to purchase tickets.
