In pictures: Northstowe Half Marathon and Acorn 5k held in aid of Cambridge Acorn Project
The Northstowe Half & Acorn 5k, supported again by the Cambridge Independent, was held last Sunday (14 April) in aid of the Cambridge Acorn Project, which offers therapeutic services to children, young people and families who have experienced trauma and face financial hardship.
Marcin Lis, founder and managing director of Northstowe Running Festival Events Ltd, said: “We were blessed with beautiful and sunny weather and the largest number of half marathon runners so far testing the new route around Northstowe including new lakes and a recently-opened footbridge.
“Thanks to Matt Webb from Star Radio, the atmosphere at the venue was electric and there were multiple cheering points along the route.
“Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors – Greenbelt Group, Athletic Brewing Co, Phoenix Events (East) Ltd, Fit Again Sports Therapy and Highgate Veterinary Clinic – we can donate all profits from the Acorn 5k race to our charity partner, Cambridge Acorn Project.”
