The Cambridge American Cemetery on Madingley Road held its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Monday (11 November) in the presence of the American Ambassador to the UK, Jane Hartley.
A spokesperson for the cemetery said that between 400 and 500 people attended.

Phil Murphy, the governor of New Jersey, and Charles K Djou, secretary of the American Battle Monuments Commission, were also in attendance.

The spokesperson said: “About 30 wreaths were laid and there were excellent speeches by Ambassador Hartley, Mr Murphy and Secretary Djou.
“There was a recitation of In Flanders Fields, one of the lines of which is also the inscription at the base of our flagpole.”
