International DJ Lisa Lashes to open music school in Cambridge
An international DJ has chosen Cambridge for her next school of music, where students can learn from leading industry professionals for free.
World-renowned producer Lisa Lashes will open her seventh School of Music in the city and is inviting applications from those who would like to attend.
The house superstar, who has more than 20 years of experience in techno and dance events, has created the course to teach hopeful DJs everything there is to know about the industry.
In Cambridge, the project will work with young people aged 16 to 24 who are not in education, training or employment (NEET).
Deborah Hewitt, managing director of Lisa Lashes School of Music, said: “Watching our school grow from strength to strength is inspiring for the whole team. Cambridge is such a beautiful city with a great culture and an equal vibe of creativity and education.
“Lisa and I are looking forward to talent spotting as our program offers far reaching opportunities for hard-working, dedicated individuals looking at gaining an insight into the music industry.
“We are lucky enough to be able to fund traineeships through PTS Training Academy, so our new students will not be left with high debts trying to self fund. For those who do not qualify for a fully funded program we can also offer a co-funded option, leaving flexibility to process and fast track into an exciting new future.”
The course teaches everything from how to mix tracks and handle a DJ deck to creating your own brand and the best way to promote event nights.
Lisa has also called on her friends and industry experts from across her career in music to help. Apply online at lisalashesschoolofmusic.com.
