Investigation launched after fire at former Burger King restaurant at Fenstanton
An investigation has been launched after fire engulfed a former Burger King restaurant.
Cambridgeshire Fire Service was called to the A1307 at Fenstanton at shortly before 5.30pm on Tuesday (27 August).
The roof of the former fast food restaurant collapsed and the neighbouring Travelodge hotel was advised to keep windows and doors shut.
Around 25 firefighters from Cambridge, Cottenham, Gamlingay, Ramsey and Huntingdon attended the scene.
The fire was out by 8.30pm, but crews remained there for another hour. Crews dampened down hotspots and left the scene just before 10pm. There were no reported casualties.
Crews returned to the site overnight and into the morning for reinspections.
An investigation into the cause is due to be carried out today (Wednesday).
