Jail for county lines drug dealer found with class A drugs in his pants in Cambridge




A county lines drug dealer caught with a stash of class A drugs in his pants while in Cambridge has been jailed.

Mark Beirne, 27, of Glyn Road, London was spotted carrying out a drug deal at a bus stop in Northfield Avenue by police on January 21.

He ran off from officers, but the neighbourhood support team later returned to the bus stop and found him there once again.

Beirne was arrested and searched by officers, who found £225 in cash, a mobile phone and eight wraps of crack cocaine and heroin. A further 32 wraps were found in his pants during a search at the station.

He was sentenced to two years and six months in prison at Cambridge Crown Court last Friday (June 25), after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin and possession of criminal property.

PC Tom Carden, from the neighbourhood support team, said: “Beirne is a county lines drug dealer transporting class A drugs from London to Cambridge to exploit vulnerable people.

“We’ll continue to disrupt and dismantle the activities of these organised crime groups because there is no place for them in Cambridge.”
