Jo Swinson says Lib Dems 'an option to remain’ ahead of European elections




Lib Dem deputy leader Jo Swinson visited Cambridge to call for a People’s Vote on Brexit on Saturday (May 18).

The MP spoke alongside Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Cambridge, Rod Cantrill.

Ms Swinson said: “It’s a reflection of the fact that for almost three years the Liberal Democrats have been calling for the people to have a say on the final deal with an option to remain.

“A People’s Vote can end years of arguments and division on Brexit – meaning we can get on with tackling the big issues today including: tackling inequality and lack of opportunity by growing our economy in all parts of the UK, taking the big steps on climate change and pollution which threaten our future, protecting our public services – our schools, hospitals, police and other services that we rely on.”
