GCSE students are set to find out how they performed in their exams today (Thursday, August 24).

Schools across Cambridgeshire will open their doors for pupils to receive their grades.

For many, it will determine what sixth form or college they attend and what A level or BTEC courses, or apprenticeships they can take.

Rather than being graded A*-G, pupils sitting exams in English, English literature and maths will now receive marks from 9 to 1, with 9 being the highest grade available.
