Nick, who is operations manager at Elite Swimming Academy, based at Milton Country Park, was nominated by the company and received a fruit basket from Cambridge Fruit Company, Champagne from Ann Pettengell Recruitment, chocolates from Chocolat Chocolat and Sunday lunch for four at Royal Cambridge Hotel.

Nick said: “It was a unexpected and very much appreciated. I was stepping out on the balcony overlooking the lake to see a fruit basket and bottle of Champagne. It was a great surprise.

“I was the first employee to join Elite Swimming Academy. I was brought on board to grow the business in a sustainable way, and we’ve done that so it was nice to have that recognition. There are four or five of us in the office now and they’re very hard-working so I expect there will be more awards to come!”
