Man, 34, charged with attempted murder after woman assaulted in Cambridge




A 34-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was assaulted in Cambridge.

Samuel Jackson, 34, of no fixed address, was arrested at Cambridge City Airport yesterday (Monday, 26 May).

The arrest followed an assault on a woman in her 40s in Kathleen Elliott Way in Cambridge earlier that morning. She remains in stable condition at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

A police spokesperson said: “Samuel Jackson, 34, of no fixed address, was arrested at Marshalls Airport, in Cambridge, yesterday morning (Monday) in connection with an assault on a woman in Kathleen Elliott Way yesterday morning.

“He has since been charged with attempted murder and is due to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday).

“The woman, who is in her 40s, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge where she remains in a stable condition.”
