Man arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder in St Ives

A man was found dead and a woman injured following reports of violence.

Officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit responded to the sudden death of the man in Houghton Road, St Ives.

Police were called at about 12.40pm Sunday afternoon (January 8).

On police arrival a woman was also found to be injured at the address and is currently receiving medical treatment. She is believed to be in a stable condition.

The death of the man is being treated as suspicious.

Officers arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

Houghton Road and Harrison Way were closed as detectives investigated.
