Man hurled racist abuse at Cottenham neighbours
A 62-year-old man who hurled racist abuse at his neighbours in Cottenham has been sentenced.
Edward Allcock bellowed racist abuse and harassed his neighbours, in Clarke Close, multiple times between Friday, 15 November and Wednesday, 27 November 2024.
He also threw objects such as ceramic plates at his neighbour’s vehicles from his window.
Allcock, now of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to harassment without violence, racially aggravated harassment and failing to surrender to court bail at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (8 October).
He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, and fined £148.
PC Bujar Mani said: “Allcock’s actions caused significant distress to his neighbours.
“This abusive behaviour is completely unacceptable, and I hope this sentence is a warning to Allcock about his future behaviour.”
