Man in his 80s pinned down by burglars as they ransack his Cambridge home




Masked raiders pushed a man in his 80s to the floor and ransacked his Cambridge home, stealing £12,000.

Detectives investigating the burglary are appealing for information after they were called to a house in Ekin Road on March 21.

Cambridgeshire police said at about 6.45pm, two men, both wearing illuminous jackets and with their faces covered, knocked on the door of the property.

A man answered and was pushed to the floor and pinned him down by one burglar, while the other ransacked the house.

The men stole £12,000 in cash before fleeing.

Cambridgeshire police said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim who has lost a serious amount of money and been left shaken by the incident

"I am urging anybody with information to get in touch as a matter of urgency."
