Marshall staff raise thousands for charity Centrepoint with sleep out
Employees at Marshall Motor Group raised thousands for charity after spending a night sleeping rough.
Eleven people from the company took part in the sleep out event which raised £7,118 for Centrepoint.
Organiser Shelley Logan, an executive assistant at Marshall Motor Group, said: “ “I didn’t think we’d raise so much, it’s been a surprise.
“It was quite a mild night so we did all manage to get some sleep, and someone was kind enough to buy us a McDonald’s breakfast in the morning too.
“We were in a group and we were in a safe place, but we did talk about how different it would be if you were a teenager on your own in a place that’s open to the public.
“Centrepoint is a brilliant charity that helps some of the most vulnerable young people in the UK to lead better, safer lives.
The sleepout took place outside Marshall’s offices on April 14, and following its success Shelley said there are plans to make it a regular event.
