More than 20 firefighters tackle Bassingbourn house blaze




More than 20 firefighters tackled a blaze in the roof of a house in Bassingbourn yesterday (Wednesday, September 20).

Firefighters were called to the detached home on South End, Bassingbourn, shortly before 10am.

Crews from Gamlingay, Cambridge, Sawston and Huntingdon, along with crews from Royston, Baldock and Stevenage in Hertfordshire, attended the incident.

Firefighters used hose reels to put out the blaze by 2.30pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
