Motorcyclist, 20, dies after Longstanton crash
A motorcycle rider has died following a crash in Longstanton.
Thomas Bye, 20, of Garwood Drive, Longstanton died in hospital yesterday (Tuesday, May 10) after being seriously injured in the crash on Sunday.
He was riding a grey Piaggio Vespa northbound along Home Farm Road and going around a bend when he left the road at about 5.20pm.
Emergency services attended the scene and Thomas was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
No other vehicles were involved.
Police launched an appeal on Monday appealing for witnesses to the incident.
At the time, Sgt Mark Atkins from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said: “I would like to hear from anyone who saw the motorcyclist prior to the collision and am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage to assist in helping piece together what has happened.”
