New branch of Wendy’s to open in Cambridge city centre
Wendy’s, the American hamburger brand, is continuing its expansion across the UK with six new restaurants set to open later this year, including one in Cambridge city centre and another in Peterborough.
The Cambridge branch will be located at 56 St Andrew’s Street, the former NatWest site.
Abigail Pringle, president, international and chief development officer of The Wendy’s Company, said: “As we continue to expand across the country, we are excited to bring more Wendy’s to more people.
“We have an exciting pipeline of restaurant openings that will bring Brits fresh options where they work, live and play.”
Wendy’s, which was founded in 1969 by Dave Thomas in Columbus, Ohio, is best known for its square hamburgers and other signature items like chili con carne and the Frosty dessert.
