New city support group for sight loss
A new sight loss support group is launching in Cambridge next Saturday (November 23).
The Cambridge Working Age Macular Society Support Group will meet for the first time from 3pm till 5pm at the Tram Depot in Dover Street.
The group has been set up by sight loss charity the Macular Society, and is aimed at younger people with visual impairments.
The charity said members can share experiences and support each other on issues including working with sight loss, driving, technology and entertainment.
They will also be able to find out the latest on any new clinical trials, treatments, and genetic research and testing.
Annemarie Taylor, Macular Society regional manager, said: “We organise groups like this all over the UK and they are incredibly popular.
"The peer support that these groups provide can be tremendously helpful.
"It’s good to be able to learn from each other’s experiences and get tips.”
