The event was originally due to take place on today (Saturday November 2), but was cancelled the day before following a forecast of high winds by the Met Office.

The Met Office revised its yellow warning on Saturday afternoon, noting that the winds would die down by 4pm, but by this stage the display was already off.

Announcing the decision to move the display, which will take place at Impington Village College’s playing field, the organisers said: “If you are not able to make this new date we are able to refund your ticket as long as you return it by Friday 8th November. After that date, we will no longer be able to offer any refunds.

“If you bought your ticket through the school, please contact your PTA rep who will organise a refund for you.

“If you bought a ticket in one of the village shops, please take the ticket to that shop and they will arrange to refund you the cost of your ticket.

“Alternatively, you may wish to donate the price of the ticket to this fundraising event and for that we would be very appreciative. All event profits go to our three village school PTAs.”

Gates will open at 6pm and the firework display will begin at 7pm. There will also be rides and refreshments.

Displays taking place today (November 2) including those in Cambourne, Linton, Sawston and Ely.
