A new online shop at wearehandmade.co.uk has been launched to promote the work of UK artists and makers, with particular emphasis on products created by makers in the East Anglian region.

Dee Shadforth, who runs the online shop, has been organising the we are handmade fairs for 10 years, with events taking place at various Essex and Suffolk venues, plus a spell running a we are handmade section at Old Spitalfields Market.

Building on the success of the fairs, Dee has decided to expand the business by opening the wearehandmade.co.uk online shop, giving the public more opportunities to buy quality crafts from makers in the region.

“I am really excited about the online shop as it is another way for the public to buy some beautifully handcrafted items from the makers,” comments Dee.

“Our fairs have always been a popular destination for shoppers keen on buying a range of handmade crafts, art and photography directly from the artists and makers, but at a time when visiting fairs and events is more difficult, this online shop provides another way of buying the work of established makers and enables us to stock the work of a wide range of craftspeople.

“There are some lovely items to purchase, such as woodturned bowls and vases from Cambridgeshire woodturner, Glyn Hall; cards and artwork from Suffolk artist Emma from Elkie Wild Art; characterful Face Pots from Colchester maker croucherli; and jewellery from Essex-based Nanuk Jewellery. We add stock on a regular basis so there’s always something new to see.”
